GENERAL PURPOSE
Your role as a Logistics Supervisor is to organize and ensure that all routes are delivered to the right location on time, maximizing the cost and
making sure drivers follow all safety guidelines and DOT laws. As a logistics supervisor, you must develop the ability to make accurate
predictions of the possible needs of the company, as well as outcomes of actions made anywhere in our organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Keep track of delivery times, transport costs, and efficiency.
- Plan routes and ensure accuracy and timely processes are being met.
- Resolve any arising problems or complaints within the department or with customers.
- Supervise, coach, and train logistics department employees.
- Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
- Ensure all drivers are complying with DOT-FL traffic laws, regulations, and requirements.
- Maintain quality service by enforcing organizational delivery standards.
- Compile data on employee productivity and utility usage to produce daily operational reports.
- Assign, direct work, and coach staff.
- Responsible for Bins Inventory and Control, including controls of transit.
- Responsible for Scale Inventory at all customer locations.
- Document and address employee’s unsatisfactory work performance and/or discipline issues as needed to correct unsatisfactory
- behavior within company’s established guidelines.
- Conduct monthly safety meetings for all logistics department employees.
- Always provide professional and courteous service to our customers and staff.
- Communicate with the sales team and General Manager/Operations Manager about any customer or route concerns.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or relevant field preferred.
- Must have a valid Class A driver’s license for at least 1 years, clean MVR & a current DOT medical card
- Must have 3 or more year’s related experience.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, a drug screen testing for pre-employment and random programs.
- Able to accept alternative plant assignments, willing to travel and attend training seminars, if required
- Knowledge of all DOT Regulations
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Solid understanding of logistics and inventory management software.
- Commitment to working as a team member for the benefit of the organization
- Outstanding analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibits imitative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
- Ability to use knowledge of working environment to meet established goals and objectives.
- Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
