Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing engineering assistance in the design and manufacture of fixtures, machines, and tools for seat assemblies. This role includes evaluating equipment, conducting time studies, and ensuring compliance with safety and ergonomic standards. The engineer will also assist in health and safety initiatives and contribute to the development of safety programs within the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering assistance to the design and manufacture of fixtures, machines, and tools
- Review ergonomics, mistake proofing, workload, and ease of assembly of components or end products.
- Work closely with safety and health to ensure that equipment or fixtures meet all ergonomic and safety standards.
- Follow up on issue resolution and audits, recommending necessary modifications or improvements to maintain compliance with laws.
- Participate in investigations of accidents and injuries.
- Examine plans and specifications for new machinery and equipment to ensure all safety precautions are included.
Manufacturing Engineer Requirements
- Proficiency with computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and AutoCAD software.
- High level of analytical ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
