Description:
The IT Technician 1 is responsible for providing computer and network support to all users within the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Set up equipment for employee use, including proper installation of cables, operating systems, and appropriate software
- Assist with desktop support for end users; assisting users with software as needed
- Provide support for additional hardware, software, and network, including printers, scanners, iPads, TVs, Wireless Network, etc.
- Identifies, researches and resolves technical problems of moderate complexity
- Responds to telephone, email, and online requests for technical support
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on hardware/software, including updates and patches
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical staff and customers.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn a broad array of networking and systems hardware and software.
Experience/Education:
- Associates degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience required
- At least two years of related experience required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to traverse the production floor as needed
