Position Summary
As a Banquet Set-Up Associate, you will play a critical role in preparing and maintaining banquet spaces for events, meetings, and functions. This role ensures all event spaces are set to hotel standards and guest expectations, helping create a memorable experience for every guest.
Core ResponsibilitiesJob Functions – 90% of Performance Appraisal
1. Administration – 70%
- Follow detailed instructions from Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure accurate room set-up.
- Greet and assist guests in a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic manner.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in all banquet areas.
- Ensure rooms are cleaned, cleared, and securely locked after events.
- Assist with food service, room set-up, and clean-up as needed.
- Report maintenance issues promptly to the Engineering Department.
- Store all equipment in designated areas properly and safely.
- Help ensure delivery of high-quality guest service and satisfaction.
2. Support – 20%
- Communicate effectively in English with guests, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Attend and actively participate in all required meetings.
- Follow all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures with attention to detail.
Professionalism and Style Expectations – 10% of Performance Appraisal
3. Personal Effectiveness – 5%
- Complete assignments thoroughly and on time.
- Stay calm under pressure and adapt to changes quickly.
- Take responsibility for personal performance and development.
- Maintain a professional appearance and behavior at all times.
4. Communication – 5%
- Understand and embody the StepStone Mission and Core Values.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and team members.
- Listen actively and help resolve issues constructively.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and pull a minimum of 75 pounds.
- Physical activities include bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and standing for long periods.
- Manual dexterity, hearing, writing, and typing skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- CPR certification required; First aid training preferred.
- Previous banquet or hospitality experience is a plus.
- Ability to obtain any required licenses or certifications.
- Bilingual ability is an advantage.
