Title : Environmental Health & Safey Manager
Salary : $60,000 - $90,000
Location : Bedford, OH
Type : Direct Hire
Job Summary :
The Environmental Health & Safey Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations. This role will lead the development and implementation of safety programs, conduct safety audits and training, and investigate incidents to prevent future occurrences.
Key Responsibilities :
Regulatory Compliance :
- Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain all required safety programs (e.g., lockout / tagout, confined space entry, hazard communication).
- Handle OSHA and EPA inspections, including preparation, participation, and follow up.
- Maintain all required safety records and documentation (e.g., OSHA 300 Log, incident reports, MSDS sheets).
Employee Training & Development :
Conduct safety training programs for all employees, including new hire orientation, hazard awareness, and specific job-related safety training.Train supervisors on accident investigation procedures.Conduct and document safety orientations for new employees.Administer and track employee safety training records.Environmental Compliance :
Manage environmental programs, including waste disposal, air emissions, and spill prevention.Prepare and submit required environmental reports (e.g., Tier II reports, Form R's).Obtain and maintain necessary environmental permits.Oversee the management of hazardous waste.Incident Investigation & Response :
Conduct thorough investigations of all workplace incidents and accidents.Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize future occurrences.Maintain accurate records of all incidents and investigations.Communication & Collaboration :
Collaborate with management, employees, and other stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture.Communicate safety policies and procedures effectively to all employees.Represent the company at safety-related meetings and conferences.Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies.Other Duties as Assigned :
Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall safety and environmental goals of the company.Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) a plus.5 years of experience in a safety and environmental role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.Additional Details :
