Job Description
Line cooks prepare and cook a variety of foods to recipe specification. This preparation requires special techniques and care to serve food properly and maintain costs. This position reports to the Head Chef and must be able to work in a team environment.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Prepare and cook a variety of foods as directed by menu.
- Operate standard cooking equipment such as mixers, steamers, toasters, fryers, oven, stove, and grill.
- Participate in kitchen cleaning and sanitation including all equipment.
- Assists in preparing entrees and special menus
- Secures food supplies from stockroom and refrigerators
- Occasionally fill in for other stations as needed
- Assist in any kitchen duties such as placing and receiving orders, rotating stick and taking inventory.
- Follows recipes based on company standards, able to follow instructions.
- Safe handling of all food including washing, cutting and preparing portions.
- Maintains sanitation, and cleanliness at all times.
- Works on preparing orders simultaneously.
- Restocks workstation and maintain personal and workstation cleanliness at all times
- Other job-related duties, as assigned
