Summary:
The Buyer/Planner is responsible for assisting in the purchasing materials, supplies, or equipment for the company. Their duties include negotiating deals with suppliers, vendors, or researching possible item selections and taking inventory of current products/supplies. Planners facilitate the planning of deliveries within a supply chain and optimize inventory planning that needs service, cost, and timeliness objectives of the employer. This position requires demonstrable knowledge of supply chain management and proficiency in planning.
Main Responsibilities:
This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all the “essential

· Develop an effective, efficient, and accurate system for monitoring production planning
· Gather data and analyze in support of strategic planning of projects
· Help create production schedules, estimate costs and quantities of materials, and streamline processes to meet deadlines
· Assists with estimating budgets, costs and quantities of materials, human labor and other tools necessary for the completion of the project
· Streamlines processes so that production can meet deadlines
· Communicates with other departments regarding production schedules and any possible changes
· Highly organized who see a strategy through to completion
· Communicate with other departments about production schedules and changes
· Working within the management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back ordered, missing, or damaged items
· Assist Supply Chain or Purchasing Manager with maintaining inventory levels and materials needed on a regular basis
· Uses market forecasts and competitive analysis to anticipate necessary production changes
· Effectively communicating with purchasing and management teams to ensure accuracy of all orders
· Work with leaders to determine materials, items, or tools the business needs and how regular the orders for these items will need to be
· Help develop and manage reorder work orders for monitoring of material flow and regulation of incoming materials or supplies
· Maintains files and records of materials, quotes/prices, inventories, vendors, and deliveries
· Assist with inventory when needed
· Ability to troubleshoot supply chain issues and come up with best possible solutions to these concerns
· All other duties as assigned

· Must be able to work at various plants based on need and ability to travel if necessary
· Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Education and Experience:
· Must be able to pass pre-employment qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent education
· Analytical and basic math skills
· Ability to perform under tight deadlines
· Purchasing, planning, and inventory management skills a plus
· Proficiency in data entry
· On-the-job Training
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
· Ability to work in a normal office environment including sitting or standing for long periods, operating various standard office equipment, carrying paper documents or files, reaching, and bending, speaking on the telephone, safely walking through our manufacturing plant, and wearing required personal protective gear (i.e. eye and foot protection).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.75 - $20.50 per hour
