Summary:
Responsible for conducting manual laborer as needed in order to complete project assignments. Organizing parts in warehouse and yard. Inventory all parts and set up in computer.
Essential Functions:
- Safely operate equipment on project site(s) as needed.
- Offload and load parts on to shelves.
- Organize parts.
- Inventory all parts and input part numbers in computer program.
- Label all parts with appropriate bar code.
- Paint, wash, or clean materials or equipment related to construction.
- Clean and organize construction sites or yard locations to eliminate possible hazards.
- Conduct manual labor, i.e., shoveling, using a chainsaw, pressure washing, as needed in order to complete project assignment.
- Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces.
- Load, unload, and identify construction materials, machinery, and tools and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
- Effectively work with other members of project team to produce contract/project requirements.
- Maintain record keeping, to include load counts, equipment hours and production.
Other Tasks:
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment from or to delivery truck.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
- Assist other operations staff as requested.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and preferably able to perform other tasks satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum:
- A valid driver license
- 6 months of prior experience as a laborer
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and ability to safely and productively operate equipment used for general yard upkeep.
- Knowledge of and ability to read and follow plans, specifications, sketches and grade/mapping control.
- Knowledge of and ability maintain equipment and follow related procedures.
- Ability to assess and troubleshoot equipment failure.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply first aid.
- Ability to interpret and record written data and information.
- Ability to communicate information in writing so others will understand.
- Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally with others.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
- Ability to meet project schedule with dependability and consistency.
