We are expanding and our accounting group is looking for a Project Accountant with at least 2 years of experience. A substantial amount of CRW's work includes planning, design, and construction management for site design, utilities, roads and airfields, sanitation and vertical construction projects for government and private clients throughout Alaska and now, parts of the US. The position is a permanent, full-time position located in our Anchorage Office under the direction of the CFO.
Responsibilities include:
- Processing accounts payable
- Processing accounts receivable
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Complete monthly project billings in accordance with contract requirements
- Process payroll in accordance with state requirements using Paycom
- Process Project Setups
- Process Change Forms and Delivery Orders
- Prepare month-end Journal Entries
- Provide support for Project Managers in project accounting related inquiries
- Process sales and use tax by state and city requirements
- Process project closures
- Assist Controller in miscellaneous tasks
In this role you will be expected to advance to:
- Preparation of financial statements for management in accordance with US GAAP
- Learn to develop and co-create efficient accounting practices in accordance with US GAAP
- Learn to reconcile General to Subledger accounts
- Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team
- Respond to inquiries regarding financial questions
- Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
- Resolve accounting variances
- Interpret contract compensation requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Accounting and 4 years of experience in accounting
- -Or-
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration and 2 years of experience
- Strong knowledge of financial and accounting record-keeping, payroll procedures and practices
- Ability to work efficiently, independently and with little supervision
- Self-starter who will take ownership of duties and position
- Ability to organize and prioritize effectively
- Attention to detail and exceptional level of accuracy
- A working knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint accounting software is preferred but not required
