HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE (Overview & Key Responsibilities):
As our EHS Specialist you will be in charge of all safety, hazard and health controls, processes, and training at each DDL site.
- Review and support health and safety processes as needed for DDL locations.
- Create health and safety processes as needed for all DDL locations.
- Create safety training procedures and training to these procedures.
- Understanding of OSHA requirements and navigating these requirements in each State DDL has a facility to ensure compliance. Remains abreast of proposed regulations updates.
- Identify and order safety material, such as cleaning kits and PPE.
- Work with site leads to implement / maintain health and safety processes such as sample in-take process
- Lead in any containment control situations
- Review of customer SDS documents with ability to interpret toxicity limits, review PPE required, ensure proper containment available and train as needed for handling of substance.
- In charge of substance disposal, such as contacting and coordinating hazardous disposal service.
- Perform annual safety checks and perform necessary safety drills.
- Maintain safety records as required per any compliance regulations (i.e. ISO 17025 or cGMP)
- Manages and reports safety KPI’s
- Training as needed to support safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health. Or Chemist or Biomedical degree with 3 years of EHS experience.
- 3 years related EHS experience
- Life Science industry experience
- Understanding of OSHA requirements
- Understanding of SDS sheets and how to interpret properly
- Understanding of disposal manifests
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
