Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position requires strong leadership abilities, exceptional analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and technical accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise employees performing revenue audit, accounting, banking, billing, credit, collections, payroll, and soft count duties.
- Coordinate and direct the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, and investment activities for the organization.
- Develop and ensure compliance to accounting, cash & credit and gaming internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
- Evaluate performance and training for Accounting, Cage/Vault, and Soft Count.
- Ensure company adherence to all government regulations
- Work closely with IT to provide systems support for all areas of the property.
- Manage all phases of the month-end general ledger and A/P close process, from journal entry postings and invoice entry to account review, reconciliation and preparation of the monthly financial statements and schedules
- Review balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial statement presentation.
- Manage the Payroll process and work closely with ADP to ensure timely and accurate payment of employees.
- Oversee the Accounts Payable and Receivable functions.
- Perform daily/weekly banking reconciliations and functions.
- Work closely with the Cage and Credit Manager to provide direction to the Cage/Vault functions to maintain and improve on compliance and efficiencies while building bench strengths within the department.
- Provide direction for the Count Team, ensuring compliance and efficiencies.
- Manage of the Gaming Revenue Audit and Compliance to ensure compliance of Nevada Gaming Control Minimum Internal Control Standards.
- Responsible for calculating and filing annual Personal and Real Property Taxes, completing annual Washoe County Assessor projects, and for filing annual Unclaimed Property reports for both the casino and hotel properties.
- Ensure timely filing of annual IRS Forms 1042-S, W-2G, and 1099-MISC.
- Responsible for annual, quarterly and monthly filing and payment of all gaming, county, state and sales/use related taxes, licenses and compliance reports.
- Responsible for overall ERISA compliance including semi-annual 401(k) enrollments, administration and record keeping.
- Manage annual IRS Tip Compliance reporting requirements and 3-year rate reassessments.
- Oversee annual property liability insurance negotiations and renewals.
- Assist with annual Workers Comp audit, reporting and renewals.
- Coordinate and manage Gaming, Title 31, SAR’s Compliance, RSCVA, IRS, and other external, county, state, and federal agency audits, including planning, execution and responding to any findings or adjustments.

Gaming
- Must be able to become registered with the Nevada Gaming Control Board
- Must be at least 21 years of age
Experience
- Expert knowledge of budgeting and planning
- Proven team and leadership experience
- Knowledge of State of Nevada and Nevada Gaming Control Board internal controls, regulations and accounting requirements.
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting.
- Knowledge of general and administrative functions required.
- Intermediate working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience with SAGE MAS 100 GL, A/P and Payroll functions preferred

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
