## Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented MDS Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience with inpatient care and possess knowledge of medical management systems. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the improvement of clinical documentation and utilization management standards.
The MDS COORDINATOR works with the D.O.N. and Administrator to provide and manage the Medicare services and ancillary services within the Nursing Department including but not limited to human and material resources . The Medicare Coordinator has primary responsibility and accountability for the provision, organization , and direction of Medicare services, quality nursing services and care to facility Residents and families. Technical and professional assistance and guidance will made available by the D.ON. , Administrator , Medical Director, and CPC/QA Nurse.
## Duties
- Coordinate and oversee the Minimum Data Set (MDS) process for patients
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of MDS assessments
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to gather necessary patient information
- Utilize medical management systems like Athenahealth and Epic for documentation
- Apply physiology knowledge to assess patient conditions effectively
- Implement clinical documentation improvement initiatives
- Monitor and maintain utilization management standards
## Requirements
- Prior experience in a similar role preferred
- Proficiency in using medical management systems
- Strong understanding of physiology and medical terminology
- Knowledge of clinical documentation improvement practices
- Familiarity with utilization management standards
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
