What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Superintendent position at Crystal Steel Fabricators, Inc.?
Crystal Steel Fabricators, Inc., a leading steel fabricator in the Mid-Atlantic region, is looking for help to oversee fieldwork throughout the DC, MD, and Northern VA region. These field superintendents / engineers will be Crystal Steel employees with benefits including a vehicle allowance, phone allowance, health insurance, 401k plan with match, paid holidays, and paid time off. Requirements:
- Be able to pass a drug test.
- Must have own transportation.
- Well-versed in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Be self-motivated.
- Able to walk jobsites, climb a ladder, work outdoors exposed to the elements, stand on your feet for extended hours.
- Able to read a tape measure and understand drawings is preferred.
- Relevant college / trade school degree and/or a few years’ experience related to Construction is preferred.
Job Description:
- Steel Construction type work.
- Work from heights including equipment, scaffolding, and ladders wearing PPE and a PFAS.
- Take instruction.
- Supervise and motivate erection personnel.
- Manage multiple erection crews.
- Field measure.
- Monitor jobsite safety.
- Prepare daily logs and weekly timesheets.
- Plan future erection activities / develop a schedule.
- Schedule erection crews.
- Schedule deliveries.
- Resolve jobsite problems.
- Develop and maintain client relationships.
- Negotiate Change Order Requests.
- Provide feedback to detailing.
- Other work, which may be assigned by CSF executives.
NOTE: We have two open positions, one for our structural steel division and one for our miscellaneous metals division (Crystal Metalworks). Our structural steel field superintendent may occasionally need to travel to more distant job sites.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
