Summary
As a Laborer at CS Beatty Construction, you will be an essential part of our team, contributing to various construction projects by assisting with site preparation and heavy equipment operations. This role is vital to ensuring our projects run smoothly and meet our high standards of quality.
Responsibilities
- Assist in site preparation activities including clearing and grading.
- Support the installation of utilities and storm sewer systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
- Collaborate with crew members to complete tasks on time and within project specifications.
- Assist with material handling and transportation on construction sites.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to heavy equipment operation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as bulldozers, loaders, and backhoes.
- Familiarity with construction site practices and safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with crew members.
- Experience with forklift operation is preferred but not required.
- Basic welding skills are a plus but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of pipe laser operation is beneficial but not essential.

Position Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
- Must pass a physical examination, drug screen, and criminal background check
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The employee works in a variety of weather conditions of heat, cold, rain and snow. Weather conditions can result in lost hours being worked.
- The employee is regularly required to use feet to push pedals and other controls,
- The employee must use speech and hearing for communication needs,
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds,
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
