About The Role
We are seeking a skilled AV Technician who will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AV systems for our organization. As an AV Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring high quality and reliable AV system installations. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, possesses strong troubleshooting skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
What You'll Do
- AV Installation: Set up, install, and configure audiovisual equipment such as projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, cameras, video conferencing systems, and performance audio systems.
- System Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform routine testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of audiovisual equipment to identify and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and support to users, including troubleshooting audio and video signal problems, adjusting equipment settings, and resolving user issues during events and meetings.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose AV system issues, identifying, and resolving connectivity problems.
- Work closely with other construction professionals to coordinate AV installations with other relevant trades.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.
- Maintain a neat and organized work area, keeping tools and equipment in good condition.
- Provide regular updates on project progress and any challenges encountered to supervisors or project managers.
- Attend training sessions and stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, reports, and as-built records.
- High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in audiovisual technology, electronics, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working as an AV Technician or in a similar role is highly desirable. Experience in live event production, corporate AV support, or theater technology is an advantage. 3 years experience preferred.
- Proficient understanding of audiovisual equipment, systems, and signal flow. Familiarity with video conferencing platforms, audio mixing consoles, lighting systems, and multimedia software is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, event organizers, and team members effectively. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate setup, operation, and maintenance of AV equipment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, adhering to tight deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively as part of a team and coordinate with various stakeholders.
- Capable of regularly lifting heavy equipment up to 35lbs and performing physical tasks related to equipment setup and maintenance.
- Certifications in CTS, CTSD, or CTS-I preferred.
