About The Role
The BIM Modeler plays a critical role in supporting our design, coordination, and installation processes by developing accurate, clash-free, and constructible electrical models. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills to collaborate with project managers, engineers, field teams, and other trades to drive efficiency in commercial, industrial, and healthcare projects.
What you"ll do
- Develop & Manage Electrical Models: Create and modify 3D electrical BIM models in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Trade Coordination & Clash Detection: Work closely with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams to identify and resolve clashes, optimizing installation efficiency.
- Construction-Ready Modeling: Produce detailed conduit layouts, panel schedules, cable tray routing, and lighting designs aligned with NEC and project specifications.
- Prefabrication & Modular Construction Support: Create models for prefabricated electrical assemblies to improve field efficiency and reduce labor costs.
- Field & Installation Alignment: Collaborate with field teams to ensure models reflect real-world conditions, updating designs based on field feedback.
- BIM Standards & Quality Control: Adhere to CS Erickson BIM standards, ensuring consistency, compliance, and seamless integration within our technology-driven workflows.
- Data & Lifecycle Management: Maintain accurate model data throughout the project lifecycle, incorporating change orders, as-builts, and asset management requirements.
- Technology & Innovation: Stay updated on the latest BIM software, automation tools, and industry advancements, integrating new efficiencies into CS Erickson workflows.
- 2 years of experience in BIM modeling for electrical systems.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Products such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- Understanding of commercial, industrial, and healthcare electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and conduit layouts.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, specifications, and submittals.
- Experience with clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Familiarity with prefabrication workflows and model-based electrical installations.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in healthcare and industrial electrical projects preferred.
- Knowledge of low-voltage, structured cabling, and smart building systems preferred.
- Familiarity with Dynamo, Python, or other third-party add-on BIM automation tools preferred.
- Exposure to laser scanning, point cloud data, and as-built modeling preferred.
