Responsibilities
- Identify business opportunities through prospecting, networking, cold calling, email campaigns, and in-person meetings.
- Develop a personal book of business and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Generate profitable sales in new and existing accounts to meet KPIs and exceed revenue goals.
- Utilize internal technologies to determine and negotiate competitive rates while still creating a profit.
- Coordinate with the Operations department to ensure loads are booked and any Customs issues have been resolved.
- Maintain current knowledge of market trends in the industry as it relates to ocean imports/exports and various lanes/regions.
- Suggest value-add solutions to new and existing accounts to meet their supply chain needs.
- Resolve any escalated conflicts that may arise with empathy and professionalism.
- Prior ocean import experience is required
- 3-5 years of freight forwarding sales experience is required
- Self-motivated, with a desire to achieve and exceed goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, as well as technological savviness
- Resilient problem solver with an empathetic and collaborative approach to understanding customer needs
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
