Job Summary:
The Hardware Engineer is a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electronics Hardware Development Engineer with expertise in PCBA design and product bring-up. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in hardware development, circuit design, and troubleshooting, with a strong focus on reliability and performance in demanding environments.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design, simulate, and develop high-quality PCBAs using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium, SolidWorks PCB).
- Create detailed schematics, select appropriate components, and optimize layouts for performance and manufacturability.
- Develop power protection circuits to manage over and undervoltage and battery management requirements.
- Generate Gerber files for board production and pick-and-place processes.
- Lead the initial build-up of new hardware designs, including functional validation and debugging.
- Collaborate with firmware, software, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software systems.
- Develop and validate circuits for:
- PWM brushless motor controls.
- RFID, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Cellular connectivity.
- CAN Bus, LIN protocols, and electrical harness designs.
- Implement Conductive and Radiated EMI suppression and ESD protection measures.
- Select components suitable for harsh environmental conditions, ensuring long-term reliability and durability.
- Integrate sensors (e.g., gas, dirt, pressure, temperature, humidity) into hardware designs.
- Laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers) will be used to test and validate hardware designs.
- Perform hardware validation against industry standards (e.g., FCC, CE) and resolve compliance issues.
- Document hardware designs and testing procedures, adhering to the Hardware Development Life Cycle (HDLC) process.
- Generate and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs and testing protocols.
- Work closely with mechanical, software, and supply chain teams to optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and testability (DFT).
- Participate in DFMEA and PFMEA
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in electronics hardware design, PCBA development, and product bring-up.
- Conductive and Radiated Electromagnetic Interface (EMI) suppression.
- Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection.
- Harsh environmental component selection.
- Development of power protection circuits for overvoltage/undervoltage.
- Real-time circuit development with offline battery management.
- GUI touchscreen interfaces and data storage systems.
- Integration of sensors: gas, dirt, pressure, temperature, humidity.
- Proficiency in C programming.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes and other testing tools.
- HDLC processes for hardware development.
- Gerber file generation for production.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail with a focus on reliability and scalability
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
