Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Meditech Clinical Template Consultant to assist with the creation and optimization of clinical templates within the Meditech system. This role focuses on enhancing nursing interventions, infusion templates, and blood draw templates, while providing valuable recommendations to improve charge capture, coding accuracy, and Health Information Management (HIM). The consultant will also assist in the development of provider-specific templates, ensuring accurate assessment of complexity, ordered data, reviewed data, and risk in line with provider documentation.
Job Responsibilities :
- Assist in the development and implementation of clinical templates for nursing interventions, infusions, and blood draws within the Meditech system.
- Ensure templates are user-friendly and align with clinical best practices and organizational standards.
- Advise and recommend additional Meditech technical changes to improve performance in charge capture, coding accuracy, and HIM functions.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders (clinical and administrative teams) to ensure templates and technical changes align with organizational needs and regulatory requirements.
- Develop provider-specific templates that accurately reflect the complexity of problems, data ordered, data reviewed, and associated risk.
- Ensure templates are based on Medical Decision Making (MDM) guidelines to improve provider documentation and accurate coding.
- Work closely with coding teams to improve charge capture practices by aligning templates with appropriate coding guidelines.
- Ensure templates support optimal documentation to reduce compliance risks and increase accuracy in coding and reimbursement.
- Provide guidance and training to clinical and coding teams on the use and benefits of newly created templates.
- Offer support in troubleshooting any issues that arise with template use and documentation.
Qualifications :
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clinical teams, IT staff, and coding specialists.
