What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Trainer position at CSI of the Southeast?
We are looking for an innovative trainer, with construction and/or Low Voltage experience; to design a training program for technicians who need hands-on and classroom technical training. The trainer is also responsible for ensuring that new employees receive onboarding training to prepare them for their role as a traveling low voltage technician. The trainer will need to have the flexibility to occasionally travel.
To be successful as a trainer you must be observant and have excellent communication skills. A good trainer is able to use alternative teaching methods to cater to various individuals.
Trainer Responsibilities:
- Create an onboarding and classroom training program that teaches newly hired technicians how to install/troubleshoot equipment.
- Create an on-the-job training program for new hires and current technicians around the Southeast United States.
- Evaluate employee performance to gauge where skills are lacking.
- Create training programs to address skill gaps in employees.
- Prepare learning materials for programs.
- Conduct surveys to gauge the effectiveness of programs.
- Research new teaching methods.
- Assist in building scope of work documents for current technicians to use on the job site.
Trainer Requirements:
- Construction background preferred.
- Low Voltage background
- A strong background or work history in HR, education, or training.
- Prior experience as a trainer or a similar position
- Technical background is a plus.
- Vocational teaching background is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to identify gaps in skills.
- Knowledge of various teaching methods and approaches.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Flexibility to travel as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
