**Fuels GIS/LiDAR Analyst Position in Tribal Forestry Division of Fire**
Summary: We are seeking a qualified applicant with advanced knowledge in geography, natural resources, computer science, or closely related field to work as a Fuels GIS/LiDAR Analyst in our Tribal Forestry Division of Fire.
Job Description
The successful candidate must possess a Master's degree in geography, natural resources, computer science, or a closely related field. Alternatively, they should hold a Bachelor's degree in the same fields and have at least two years of increasingly responsible experience in GIS. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with LiDAR data, ArcGIS software components, extensions, and spreadsheets, as well as basic understanding of forestry and fire concepts.
In addition to technical skills, the selected individual must be able to obtain a valid State of Montana Drivers License and meet BIA/Northwest Regional Office Safe Driver Approval requirements.
This position is subject to random drug testing under the Tribes Drug Free Workplace Program.
Requirements
- Masters degree in geography, natural resources, computer science, or a closely related field;
- Bachelors degree in the same fields and two (2) years of relevant, increasingly responsible GIS experience;
- Experience with LiDAR data, ArcGIS software components, extensions, and spreadsheets;
- Basic understanding of forestry and fire concepts;
- Valid State of Montana Drivers License;
- BIA/Northwest Regional Office Safe Driver Approval.
