What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Events Coordinator and Development Assistant position at CSNIP?
Job Summary:
This part-time position will ensure that CSNIP’s annual fundraising special event and development program strategies are executed to generate needed unrestricted funding to support the organization’s mission.
This part-time position is expected to be 20-24 hours per week. The work of this position will be completed in-clinic/in-person.
Responsibilities:
* Execute the tasks associated with the annual Wags & Whiskers fundraising event including auction solicitation, recording donated auction items into the event auction database, tracking ticket sales and corporate sponsorships, coordination of event logistics, providing support to the event planning committee, and complete other event tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
* Daily, process cash and in-kind donations with accuracy, record data in identified spreadsheets and shared folders, and reconcile donations at month end with both CSNIP's donor database and the financial management software.
* Provide project management for CSNIP’s two annual direct mail campaigns, ensuring that project timelines are met, that Development Team members have needed resources to complete their assigned tasks, and that printer production timelines are met, and prepare reports for the Development Team as directed
* Coordinate with the CSNIP's Communication/Marketing Coordinator to ensure the event and fundraising campaigns of CSNIP are supported through social media posts, eblasts, and that the CSNIP website related pages are accurate and up to date.
* Conduct donor and foundation research and assist the Executive Director and Development Specialist with grant-writing and donor outreach.
* Ensure accuracy of the Development program records, including regular updates to the Annual Development Plan, diligent special event and fundraising effort documentation, and preparation of monthly reports as assigned. Assist with internal process improvements to increase efficiencies and effectiveness of CSNIP's Development Department.
. Coordinate work with other members of the Development Team, participate in the monthly Development Team meetings and perform other duties as directed by the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
1-3 years of nonprofit fundraising experience strongly desired, preferably in a position with similar responsibilities but clerical/administrative work experience is acceptable. Must be technologically proficient, detail-oriented, possess good writing and excellent organizational/time management skills. The ability to self-motivate and execute assigned tasks with minimal supervision is necessary. This position will require ability to prioritize, good judgement, strong teamwork skills, and discretion regarding sensitive donor issues. A passion for CSNIP’s mission is essential for success.
