Medical Biller and Coder

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role is crucial in facilitating the revenue cycle by processing medical claims efficiently and effectively.

Duties

• Prepare and submit accurate medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
• Utilize ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.
• Review patient records for completeness and accuracy before billing.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies or issues with insurance providers.
• Maintain organized medical records and documentation in accordance with company policies.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives regarding billing inquiries.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding practices, and insurance policies.
• Assist in the collection of outstanding balances from patients as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical billing, preferably within a Pediatric medical office setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10), and DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) classifications.
• Familiarity with medical collections processes and systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with various stakeholders.

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Choose your own hours
• Day shift
• Weekends as needed
