Medical Biller and Collector

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely payments from insurance companies and patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, coding systems, and the ability to navigate medical records effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify patient insurance information and eligibility.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and manage accounts receivable.
• Handle patient billing inquiries and resolve billing issues.
• Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, billing regulations and coding practices.
• Maintain accurate records of all billing transactions and communications.
• Prepare and send out patient statements and collection letters.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure accurate documentation and coding.
• Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing and coding preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and collections, preferably in a dermatology setting.
• Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong understanding of insurance policies, billing regulations, and coding guidelines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.27 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
