We are is a full-service commercial boiler repair and maintenance contractor. With 40 years of industry experience, we are seeking a hard-working, reliable hire to join our growing team.
While based in Orange County, NY, the majority of our work takes place in NYC, across all 5 boroughs. We have multiple active 3–5-year contracts with NYC DEP, DCAS and DOE and NYCHA.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Parts Manager to oversee our parts department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing and heating, as well as logistics, with proven experience in supplier management and warehouse operations. This role is crucial for ensuring that our inventory is well-managed, deliveries are made efficiently, and our projects stay on time. This position requires daily driving from Orange County, NY to various job locations or vendors throughout the NY Metro area(NJ and CT included).
Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement of parts and supplies to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Deliver parts and materials to our crews all around New York City, Westchester, New Jersey or Connecticut.
- Keep a detailed log of parts or material delivered, job duration of the crew using the parts or materials and schedule clean outs/movement of parts and materials to the next project or back to the shop.
- Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate pricing and delivery schedules while maintaining strong relationships.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices while in a company vehicle.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Organize warehouse to reduce waste and optimize current/future stock.
Requirements
- Proven experience in supplier management, warehouse management, or logistics within the plumbing and heating industry.
- Familiarity with order management systems and data entry processes.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing inventory levels.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members across all organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of procurement management principles is a plus.
We offer a competitive hourly "shop rate" as a base pay rate, but the Parts Manager will routinely earn NYC Prevailing wage while loading in or out various projects. We offer medical, dental and PTO.
