CST Utilities LLC is looking for a Water Line Foreman. The Water Line Foreman oversees and coordinates the installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution systems. This role ensures that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a crew in the installation, repair, and replacement of water mains, service lines, valves, and hydrants.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure proper installation and compliance.
- Plan daily work activities, assign tasks to crew members, and ensure efficient workflow.
- Operate and oversee the use of heavy equipment, including excavators, backhoes, and trenchers.
- Ensure all work meets safety and regulatory standards, including OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and utility companies to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and crew hours.
- Train and mentor crew members on safety protocols, proper procedures, and best practices.
- Respond to emergency water line breaks and service disruptions as needed.
- Ensure equipment inspections are performed and notify the superintendent immediately if equipment is defective or broken.
- Work in conjunction with the Crew to ensure the work contracted is implemented efficiently and according to the contracted specifications.
- Address questions or concerns with the clients if approached. Communicate customer’s questions immediately with the Field Safety Supervisor & Superintendent.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certifications in water distribution preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in water line installation, maintenance, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of operating heavy equipment, such as backhoes and excavators.
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is required.
- Strong knowledge of water distribution systems, underground utility construction, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, and utility plans.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment and using hand and power tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to effectively manage crews.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
