What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Assistant position at CSU Fullerton Auxiliary Services Corporation (ASC)?
Under the supervision of the Admissions Coordinator of the Department of Social Work, the Admissions Assistant supports recruitment and admissions processes for the department. Work includes assisting with recruitment activities, presenting information about the department at formal and informal events, helping manage application processes, and coordinating admissions interviews. This position also includes responding to applicant inquiries and supporting the process of notifying applicants about admissions related decisions.
The position involves establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with campus departments and statewide organizations including the Social Work Department Administrative Support Coordinator (ASC) and faculty, Extension and International Programs (EIP) and other university units, CSUF ASC Sponsored Programs staff, and the funding agency, the CA Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI).
- Answer questions from applicants (e.g., phone calls and emails)
- Monitor applications in Cal State Apply
- Data collection, data entry, and data management relating to applications, interviews, and admissions decisions
- Assist with and deliver information sessions and open forums
- Organize and schedule applicant interviews
- Coordinate with faculty for post-interview outreach
- Assist with outreach & recruitment events
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a solid foundation in grammar, spelling and the composition of various communication vehicles.
- Excellent technical skills with competency in Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite, and ability to quickly grasp and navigate intra-net platforms.
- Detail-oriented and ability to manage changing priorities, critical deadlines, and maintain a sense of urgency, initiative, and follow-through.
- Ability and/or interest to work in a multi-cultural/multiethnic environment.

EDUCATION:
- Minimum Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or bachelor’s in social work related field.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Lifting of up to 25lbs.; periodic bending; long-term periods of sitting; long term periods operating a computer.
