What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood - Floater position at CSUMC Preschool?
The Preschool Floater will assist teachers as needed with daily classroom activities including transitions, meal or playground supervision, indoor play, art activities, and light cleaning. The Preschool Floater will relieve teachers for breaks and substitute for a class if a teacher is out. The ideal candidate will be engaging, patient, and reliable. S/he will maintain active supervision and ensure the safety and comfort of the children in his/her care.
We are open Monday-Friday 7:30-6:00. This is a part-time hourly position with some flexibility in potential work hours (25 or less per week).
Duties
� Coordinate daily structured activities for children and actively supervise children at play in the classroom, in the gym, or on the playground.
� Anticipate and meet the immediate needs of children including personal hygiene needs that may arise.
� Follow protocol for pickup to ensure that children leave only with authorized adults and that their departure is recorded.
� Assist with light cleaning duties and daily closing procedures as needed.
� Maintain a positive, calm demeanor and tone of voice.
� Participate in ongoing professional development as required by the state of Tennessee and CSUMC Preschool.
� Demonstrate professional and ethical behaviors and work habits when in contact with children, parents, and staff members.
Requirements
� Must possess at minimum a high school diploma or GED.
� Experience working with children is preferred.
� Ability to respond quickly to the physical and emotional needs of children.
� Must have Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification or the ability to obtain certification.
� Must clear a full background check.
