Summary
Little Oaks Academy is in search of experienced and dedicated educators in our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. Candidates will be familiar with Tennessee Daycare Licensing Regulations and STARS ratings, knowledgeable of child development, and experienced in developmentally appropriate behavior management techniques and teaching strategies young children. Little Oaks teachers are hourly, year round employees. We have both part-time and full-time positions available. Additional hours with overtime pay may be offered / required on occasion. In addition to classroom hours, attendance at evening training sessions and meetings is required from time-to-time.
Our center is open from 7 : 15-5 : 45, Monday through Friday, and employees may be asked / required to work any shift during those hours.
Duties
Educators are responsible for working collaboratively and cooperatively to ensure that all aspects of nurturing and caring for the children enrolled in the classroom are achieved, including :
- Creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and healthy environment so children are enabled and encouraged to thrive;
- Implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on LOA’s guidelines and current best practices;
- Encouraging positive family relations by engaging with parents and other stakeholders;
- Promoting children’s intellectual, emotional, and physical well-being while supporting each child’s social development and individual needs;
- Cultivating a collaborative and spirited work environment that fosters teamwork and child-focused care; and
- Working with and under the supervision of the Executive Director to ensure compliance with LOA’s standards and governmental regulations.

Little Oaks Academy (LOA) is a daycare facility licensed by the Tennessee Department of Human Services (“DHS”). The purpose of our early childhood education and development program is to promote the development of the total child – physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially, using age-appropriate activities under the guidance of professional, loving, and caring teachers. As a non-profit, LOA operates under a Board of Directors (the Board). The Board is charged with defining the mission, vision, and values of LOA’s early childhood education and development program.
