What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Worker I (On-Site) position at CSWI w/Subsidiaries?
The Production Worker I is responsible for assisting in the manufacturing, assembling and preparation of products for shipment. Duties include manufacturing of finished goods or working with manufactured products from machines and vendors, aiding in loading the assembly process, packaging finished products and organizing them for shipments and perform basic checks to ensure quality product and /or loads. This is an on-site hourly position and requires a daily presence at our Houston - Spenwick facility, which operates Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed to include weekends during peak seasons.
RectorSeal manufactures and/or distributes a variety of mechanical products for the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing industries. Key Responsibilities:
- Follows all company-established rules and policies; adheres to all safety rules, quality standards, process documentation, and regulations.
- Maintains all quality indicators for operations by verifying product quantity/quality according to company requirements.
- Assists production personnel in accordance with instructions and specifications.
- Able to complete tasks assigned on simple machines.
- Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
- Assemble and pack materials and equipment as required.
- Organizes and prepares goods for shipment.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Perform other related duties as directed.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma/Equivalent or 6 months experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment in lieu of education.
- Able to work 8 -12-hour shifts standing.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Available to work any shift and/or overtime as needed.
Skills and Competencies:
- Able to collaborate in a team setting.
- Basic computer skills to function in job role.
- Able to read Material Safety Data Sheets as well as raw material and finished goods container labels and understand directives.
- Basic math skills to function in the role
- Willingness to comply and support safety standards.
Preferred Experience:
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, environment, or equipment.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
