What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Zone Leader (Day Shift) position at CSWI w/Subsidiaries?
Job Overview:
The Zone Leader will provide support/lead other members of the production department and co-coordinate several activities including operating machines, production, processing, packaging, and sorting. The Zone Leader will ensure that manufacturing of items in the production plant are carried out efficiently and with strict adherence to safety and quality standards. This is an on-site hourly position that may require the employee to be in their assigned area prior to the start of the shift to stage work area. Additional work hours will be assigned during peak times and year-end.

Key Responsibilities:
- Stage and prepare raw materials for subsequent production runs and remove materials from completed work orders.
- Follow all company-established rules and policies; adhere to all safety rules, quality standards, process documentation, and regulations.
- Explore methods of possible improvement in safety, efficiency, and/or productivity.
- Communicate and/or stop production to report any possible discrepancies to your supervisor.
- Maintain all quality indicators for operations by verifying product quantity/quality according to company requirements and standards.
- Understand the operation of all equipment of the associated line and ensures production is running smoothly and efficiently.
- Train assigned personnel on the operation of all equipment of the associated production line.
- Able to perform the work of, and fill in for during the absence of, all assigned employees as needed.
- Complete the required written daily reports.
- Ensure all assigned personnel know where all valves and emergency stop controls are located and can activate/deactivate emergency controls as needed.
- Ensure proper shutdown of equipment and area at the end of shift (shut off equipment, check for leaks, cover tanks or hoppers, clean up, and empty trash carts).
- Understand and maintains all safety, mechanical, and chemical aspects of the job.
- Maintain working knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment in assigned area.
- Verify and enter work order data into the computer system.
- Verify inventory levels physically and systemically prior to production.
- Other duties as directed to deliver manufacturing performance goals.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma/Equivalent or 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment in lieu of education.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Able to work 8 -12-hour shifts standing.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Available to work any shift and/or overtime as needed.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
