   Overall Purpose: Why the Job Exists & What You Will Do:                                                                    

As the Production Planner, you will plan and manage the production schedule and inventory levels tomeet production goals,support inventory strategy, and customer order timelines.

  Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes: Your Accountabilities in the Role                        

  1. Production Schedule Management & Planning:          100% of the Job
    1. Plans and manages theproduction schedule tomeet the customer requirements.
    2. Monitors and manages inventory levels while collaborating with Purchasing to meet production and customer needs, ensuring the inventory counts are accurate through aneffective cycle counting process.
    3. Collaborates and communicates closely with the plant manager, plant superintendent, and production personnel to facilitate the successful execution ofthe production plan.
    4. Collaborates with Customer Service on production scheduling issues, where the order sales schedule may beimpacted, to find proactive solutions and meet the customer timelines.
    5. Supports Lean andSafety initiatives by participating andleading events atthe facility toenable goal attainment and foster a culture ofcontinuous improvement.
    6. Maintains and updates the part numbers, processes, engineering changes and part location assignment, becoming the resident expert in these areas to provide assistance and efficiency within production

Position Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree inSupply Chain, Management, or related field; or the equivalent in course work andexperience.
  2. Experience: 3-5 years ofexperience; working within a union environment would behelpful; but not required.
  3. Certification(s): APICS(American Production & Inventory Control Society) certification would behelpful but notrequired.
  4. Functional Skills: High detail orientation with solid math and data analysis skills required. Strong planning and organization skills are also required. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities/deadlines effectively with large amounts of data; conceptual thinker with solid problem-solving skills isalso important.
  5. Technology Aptitude/Skills: Experience with ERP and material planning systems with Report Writing required, knowledge of Oracle Cloud ishelpful but notrequired. Advanced inExcel.
  6. LanguageSkills: Excellent verbal and written communication required.
  7. Leadership/Behaviors: Collaborative with an ability toinfluence others; high customer-focus to provide exceptional customer support both internally and externally. Quality/compliance oriented to meet thegoals of the customer and stay within inventory parameters; data-driven with astrong sense ofurgency to meet the needs of the customers and scheduling goals of the department.
  8. CultureMatch Behaviors: Forward-thinking, flexible and able to create andsupport continuous improvement and change, with a desire towear multiple hats beyond production planning based on alean organization. May be involved inSafety and Quality management project activities.

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filingcabinets and fax machines.

Physical Requirements to Perform Essential Functions:

  • Ability to sit andoperate a motor vehicle as neededfor travel in the role
  • Ability to stand for up to 4-8 hours in one session
  • Ability to sit at desk for 5  hours per day
  • Ability to operate keyboard and view computer screenfor majority of day 5  hours
  • Ability to write ideas/information in a logicalflow for 5 hours per day
  • Ability to read and respond on an on-going basis dailydue to nature of the work,throughout the day
  • Ability to communicate with others via phone,in-person, and computer on-going
  • Ability to listen to customers, problem-solve, and respond accordingly
  • Ability to read, write and speakEnglish fluently
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk,bend, reach, kneel,squat, twist, push,pull, stoop, crouch,and carry itemsfrequently
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. sporadically

Environmental Conditions & Travel:

  • The employee is primarily exposed to a normal officeenvironment withmoderate noise.The employee is occasionally required to wearsuitable Personal Protective Equipment while visiting manufacturing departments or other locations.
  • This position may face inclement weather conditions whentraveling.
  • Up to 5% travel or less; visiting vendors or othersister sites
