POSITION SUMMARY:

The SBA Product and Program Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining product/program positioning, sales acquisition, portfolio management and retention strategies that will ensure achievement of SBA balance growth objectives and portfolio credit/asset quality objectives.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
:


Product and Program Management
(45%)

  • Establish operational processes that conform with SBA SOP guidelines & maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of SBA products, rules, and regulations & identifying responsible growth initiatives and being accountable for building the case for change as well as leading the design and deployment/implementation of the initiative into production.
  • Participate with more senior levels in the development of short- and long- term product and program management plans.
  • Provide leadership and host product and program knowledge training to Business Partners within the organization.
  • Ensure that product and program management effort is integrated with sales, marketing, operations, implementation and customer service.
  • Host product and program knowledge training to Business Partners within the organization and be responsible for larger groups, more strategic or complex product lines or multiple products.
  • Control risk and identify issues on SBA loan applications and credit processing to increase the revenue and ensure safe and sound loans for profitability and growth.


Portfolio Management
(45%)

  • Monitoring and maintaining the standard loan portfolio processes, procedures, and practices to support the Team Leader, which include credit risk, interest rate risk, liquidity risk, price risk, transaction risk, foreign exchange risk, compliance risk, strategic risk, and reputation risk and regularly monitors and reviews the current SBA loan portfolio to identify issues.
  • Work with Team Leader on specific projects including portfolio reviews, updating of credit processes within the portfolio, risk rating policy.
  • Assess and minimize risks on more complex SBA loans by following operational standard procedures, identifying suspicious/inconsistent activities, notifying appropriate parties, and taking appropriate actions.
  • Measure credit risks, portfolio stress tests, and analyze collaterals as applicable to loan structure and terms.
  • Drive loan terminations, securing internal/external parties’ understanding, compliance, and completion.


Underwriting (10%)

  • Underwriting all types of commercial loans by analyzing corporate and personal financials, completing borrower and industry due diligence, completing AML/KYC, and drafting credit memos (CRs).
  • Review loan packages and analyze credit information, making the detailed assessment of an applicants’ creditworthiness.
  • Monitoring various loan activities, tracking, and collecting loan conditions including financial statements and perform Credit Reviews.


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
:

  • Successfully complete all mandatory training on related Bank’s and BSA compliance as well as other laws and regulations as assigned and in a timely manner.
  • Assist Team Leader to manage the credit and risk quality of the team’s portfolio including approving items, transactions, and requests whenever the Team Leader is not available. Subject to proper delegation of authority from Team Leader.


Education, Experience and Skills Required
:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or equivalent experience is required.
  • 10 years of experience in dealing with SBA loans is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning/ product and program management skills, strong analytical skills with breadth of view, negotiation skills, people and project management skills and abilities.
  • Ability to analyze, underwrite, and administer SBA loan portfolios.
  • Strong credit and financial analyzing, underwriting, sales, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of commercial and industrial lending guidelines and productions, all applicable State and Federal regulations.
  • Ability to analyze and consolidate data to develop SBA loan portfolio processes, procedures, and to implement practices.
  • Ability to independently negotiate large amount of loan contracts and minimize asset quality.
  • Ability to apply computer software programs in evaluating financial information and maintaining loan information.
  • Formal credit training and CFA or related certification is preferred.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
:

  • Minimum mobility to work in an office setting; sit for prolonged period of times; operate office equipment including use of a computer keyboard; and reach with hands and arms. Employees are occasionally required to walk and stand and lift and move records and documents weighing 30 pounds or less.


COMMUNICATION DEMANDS
:

  • Attention to detail, strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, self-motivated, and analytical skills, ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
:

  • Standard office environment. Noise level in work environment is usually average. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Compensation
The base pay range for this position is USD $120,000.00/Yr. - USD $140,000.00/Yr plus full benefits. Exact offer will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
