Key Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, and procure raw materials, components, and equipment in alignment with production requirements and budgetary constraints.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure consistent quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production teams to prevent both overstock and shortages.
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions for accuracy and clarity, ensuring they meet production needs.
- Evaluate supplier performance on key metrics such as cost, quality, delivery timelines, and service levels.
- Create and manage purchase orders (POs), ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
- Address and resolve order discrepancies, delays, and quality concerns in collaboration with the receiving and warehousing teams.
- Work closely with the engineering team to forecast material needs and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
- Stay informed on market trends, pricing shifts, and supply chain challenges to proactively mitigate risks and identify new opportunities.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or 2 years equivalent work experience).
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed, strategic purchasing decisions.
