CTI, Inc. is seeking a full-time Transportation Safety Administrator who has a strong aptitude for mastering and managing software systems, such as Peoplenet/Trimble. Also responsible for maintaining safety events database, roadside inspection database, and personal protective equipment (PPE) management. Maintain hours of service compliance for the fleet, including reporting and correcting logging errors where allowable. Coach and assist drivers in maintaining accurate and legal electronic logs. Ability to assist with training and field work. This position is classified as safety sensitive.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage Electronic Logging Device (ELD) back-office software, database, hardware installations and trouble shooting.
- Serve as the expert and administrator for software platforms
- Manage software user portal access, permissions, and credentials
- Run reports, analyze data, and provide actionable insights
- Provide end-user training and support, helping others maximize platform's capabilities
- Continuously learn and adapt to software updates and new features
- Manage hours of service compliance for the fleet
- Compile and analyze reports to identify potential compliance issues
- Assist drivers with editing and maintaining their logs
- Coach drivers on accurate and compliant logging
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FMCSA regulations including Hours of Service (HOS)
- Analyze the company’s CSA scores monthly and share the date with the Safety staff and managers for their review to implement a course of action
- Run and analyze driver CSA scorecards on a weekly basis to monitor performance; share data with Safety staff and managers for review and implementation of improvement measures
- Initiate and receive phone calls to obtain, provide, and relay information
- Create, maintain, organize, and retain pertinent records and files
- Prepare training and meeting agendas, materials related thereto, ensuring compliance
- Maintain official documents and records in appropriate electronic files
- Attend meetings, seminars, training, etc., possibly to take notes or furnish information
- Perform research for projects and legal matters
- Assist in safety trainings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; a minimum of six months related experience and/or training; or a combination of experience and education preferred.
- Must have a valid driver license and be able to be insured under company’s vehicle insurance policy.
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word & Power Point)
- Ability to type minimum 50 wpm; moderate data entry with attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and speak Spanish is preferred
- Prior knowledge of OSHA policies, procedures, and DOT regulations preferred
- Transportation and Safety related experience preferred
- Understand and explain FMCSA HOS regulations
- Work effectively with other employees; excellent customer service and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Demonstrated ability to carry out assignments to their completion and meet deadlines
- Ability to handle heavy workload & work well under pressure with minimal supervision
- Work overtime, as needed
- Be available to be on call on occasional weekends for accidents, emergencies, and assist with troubleshooting
- Work a non-standard schedule which may include shift and field work including travel, as needed
- Effectively handle stressful situations, making quick decisions and reacting efficiently and safely
- Understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English.
- Work independently and under minimal supervision
- Ability to wear all required PPE including an acid suit and full-face respirator
Key Qualifications:
- Proven experience in understanding software platforms and acting as a primary resource for support
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Excellent communication and teaching abilities
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions
- Experience with Peoplenet/Trimble or similar platforms is a plus
Working Conditions:
Continuous sitting, repetitive keyboard movements, telephone communications in a fast-paced environment. While performing the duties of this position, an employee is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands and arms, see, speak and hear. Periodically work in elevations of 20 feet above the ground, being hoisted in the air. Able to occasionally lift up to 70 pounds.
While performing the duties of this position, an employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanic parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
