Job Description
C.T. Male Associates, a multi-discipline engineering and architectural firm in the Northeast, is seeking a motivated early career Environmental Scientist to join our Latham, NY office. Get hands-on experience working on diverse, impactful projects while growing your technical skills and progressing toward professional goals.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform field work: drilling and monitoring well installation observation, soil and/or rock logging, sampling environmental media (e.g., soil, groundwater, air), Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments and observation of various practices of environmental remediation.
- Work both independently and in teams to complete field tasks.
- Coordinate drilling, laboratory, and various field services.
- Prepare daily field reports and interpret findings.
- Communicate with project managers, subcontractors, regulatory agents, and clients.
- Support technical reporting, compliance plans, and permit applications.
Pay Range: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Job Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related discipline.
- One to three (1-3) years of relevant environmental experience, including environmental field work.
- Proactive mindset and solid technical skills.
- Experience with sampling equipment and environmental monitoring tools.
- Strong experience in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and navigate diverse terrain.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) 40-hour training.
- Experience with data management software (e.g., EQuIS), AQTESOLV software and/or other groundwater plotting or modeling packages, ArcGIS, and Field Maps.
