Job Summary:
CTR Group is seeking experienced Senior Engineering Technicians / Technical Writers in the Portsmouth, Virginia area for Shipyard projects.
This role requires the application of all qualifications to support the Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical Technical codes with the preparation of Technical Working Documents (TWDs).
Tasks include preparing Job Summaries, Task Group Instructions (TGIS), and Deficiency Forms (DFs), ordering materials, services, and rental equipment for ongoing and upcoming availabilities.
Additionally, the position involves ship checks for interferences, developing estimates, and preparing and issuing technical working documents.
Proficiency in Advance Industrial Management (AIM), Advance Industrial Management Support System (ATIS), Technical Information Manual (TIM), HAYSTACK GOLD, Industrial Process Instruction (IPI), NNSY Documents, Computer Industrial Technical Information System (CITIS), Conversion Liaison Instruction (CVLIs), Maintenance Standards, Tech Manuals, Current Ship's Maintenance Project (CSMPs), and Microsoft Office is required.
Equivalent programs or comparable/functional database experience will satisfy this requirement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of practical design engineering experience or 10 years of practical field engineering experience providing problem analysis and resolution including systems and components at a professional level.
- A minimum of 5 years consecutive practical design experience or practical field engineering experience within the last eight (8) years for construction, conversion, or modernization of U.Naval Ships (excluding maritime ship design).
- Able to obtain CAC, NAVSEA badge, and NMCI account.
- Must have current CONFIDENTIAL clearance and be eligible for SECRET security clearance.
