Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Shipfitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience in assembling, fabricating, and welding components for marine vessels. The Shipfitter will play a crucial role in ensuring that all parts are accurately fitted and meet safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and fit metal structures and components according to specifications.
- Fabricate parts using various techniques, including welding and rigging.
- Utilize hand tools and equipment such as calipers and Ohmmeters to ensure precision in measurements.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and safely.
- Perform quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Shipfitter or in a similar role within the marine or manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with welding techniques and equipment is essential.
- Experience using hand tools, calipers, and Ohmmeters effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
