Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Shipfitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience in assembling, fabricating, and welding components for marine vessels. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work with various hand tools and equipment. The Shipfitter will play a crucial role in ensuring that all parts are accurately fitted and meet safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and fit metal structures and components according to specifications.
- Fabricate parts using various techniques, including welding and rigging.
- Utilize hand tools and equipment such as calipers and Ohmmeters to ensure precision in measurements.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and safely.
- Perform quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Shipfitter or in a similar role within the marine or manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with welding techniques and equipment is essential.
- Experience using hand tools, calipers, and Ohmmeters effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
