JOB OVERVIEW
The Architectural Designer at CUBE 3 must be able to independently generate relevant, innovative and creative design concepts for a wide range of project types including Site and Master Planning, Large scale Housing and Student Housing, Hospitality and Entertainment / Resort, and Corporate Office. We are looking for passionate, engaged designers that are willing and able to share their energy and creativity with all of our team members.
Responsibilities include working directly with firm Partners and leadership to collaborate on Concept Design, as well as working broadly to assist Individual Studio Leaders with ongoing design efforts in their studios. This work will include entitlements efforts and participation in public hearings, ongoing design reviews for active projects, and individual and group mentoring for staff.
The position requires not only strong design skills and self-motivation, but great communication skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Project involvement for Designers at CUBE 3 extends from initial concept design to the end of construction, partnering with Studio Leads on every project. Client communication and interaction skills are critical.

Requirements
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
• Minimum of 5 years experience in other design firms
• Professional Bachelor’s degree from an accredited School.
SKILLS and MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Must be able to deliver creative design concepts, sketches, renderings, models, etc. for a wide range of projects and project types with minimal oversight.
• Must be able to sketch concepts and create 3D images quickly that clearly express design concepts and project vision for staff and partners.
• Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, present and defend multiple design concepts for review by Design Partners
• Work with Studio Leaders to integrate design detailing into ongoing projects effectively.
• Strong skills in a wide range of media including hand drawing, Sketch-Up and other presentation and graphic software.
• Ability to quickly change gears and multi-task on a daily basis.
• Superior verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to speak about design and present Design concepts at Planning Boards and public meetings.
• Strong technical knowledge to anticipate and integrate technical building system and structural requirements into Concept Designs to ensure Design integrity and follow-through as the project moves into Production and Construction.
• Ability to Design, oversee and deliver complete Test Fit and Entitlements packages that blend Design, Zoning and Code requirements with appropriate Metrics, Dimensions, Area Calculations and presentation graphics.
• Strong knowledge of Zoning Codes, requirements and Building Codes applicable at the Concept Design level. Ability to research and interpret Zoning as required and organize data in advanced Excel formats.
• Ability to research building materials options appropriate to the building type, client vision, and project location.
• Enhances existing client relationships and helps develop new relationships
• Effectively and proactively coaches and mentors other team members.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and driving record, as deemed acceptable by our firm’s liability insurance carrier, must be presented and maintained.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Due to the nature of the position, the employee may often work more than 40 hours per work week (i.e., Monday – Friday), as well as some weekend and off-site work. This position is not overtime for working more than 40 hours per week. The employee typically is required to be present in and working out of the Company’s office in Miami, Monday through Thursday 10 hours per day or Monday through Friday 8 hours per day. Note that the nature of this position is very collaborative and interactive and in-person interaction with project teams is a top priority to enhance the creative studio environment.
TRAVEL
Up to 20 percent travel to local and non-local project sites and client meetings.
