JUNIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER JOB OVERVIEW:
Perform a variety of design and technical tasks requiring application of standard techniques and knowledge gained through experience in the field. Complete work in a self-directed manner, demonstrating advanced skills in both Design and Technical aspects of project development. These tasks must be completed and coordinated with established budget, schedule and programmatic requirements provided by the Project Manager or other project team member. Demonstrated evolution in design and technical skills, project responsibilities and overall leadership throughout the design process, including programming, preparation of design and the creation of Schematic Design, Design Development and Contract Documents, Revit or Sketch-Up model building, renderings and Construction Administration activities.

A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and driving record, as deemed acceptable by our firm’s liability insurance carrier, must be presented and maintained.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time exempt position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week.
TRAVEL
Up to 20 percent travel to local and nonlocal project sites and client meetings.

Requirements
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- 2-5 years of non-Intern architectural or interiors professional working experience.
- Professional Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited Architecture or Interior Design School.
- Strong understanding of Architectural and/or Interior Design principles and theory associated with project design and construction materials and methods.
- Emerging strength in verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate a professional work ethic.
- Demonstrate progress with LEED Certification.
- Show advancement and participation in professional growth including, Development Program (IDP), ARE or other relevant program.
DESIGN
- Prepare preliminary design studies, concepts and sketches for review with project team
- Prepare Documentation for Schematic Design and Design Development.
- Exercises creative judgment and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials, including design sketches, renderings, models and graphics.
- Committed to key firm principles including strong communication, teambuilding, excellence in design, quality control, and sustainability.
- Supports specific project goals outlined by project team members and the PM.
- Prepare Contract Documents including plans, details, sections, elevations and schedules (Completion of a minimum of 3 sets).
- Produce amendments, addenda and bulletins as required to support the project team.
- Assist in preparation of revisions and technical alternatives for project team review.
- Perform area calculations and other technical project support functions according to specified standards.
- Emerging strength in overall technical knowledge, including detailing, constructability, and coordination among all trades.
- Proficiency in Revit required.
- Perform tasks in accordance with the C3S Project Delivery Manual.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, plan and execute assigned tasks.
- Self-check work for accuracy, omissions and legibility and coordinate with QA/QC program.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage the work of others on the project team.
- Emerging leadership role on projects should be demonstrated.
- LEED Certification
- Substantial progress with Intern Development Program (IDP), ARE, NCIDQ or other relevant professional certification program.
- Involvement in non-work industry-related organizations and/or volunteering opportunities.
- Contributing to the CUBE3 culture.
