Job Summary: Company: Cuffe and Taylor Department: Operations Location: Preston, London or remote (UK) Reports to: Senior Event Manager Working Hours: Full time, 9am – 5pm with extra weekend working throughout festival season onsite. Some travel required. Role Description Cuffe & Taylor operates Lytham Festival, Live at The Piece Hall, Scarborough Open Air Theatre, Summer Sessions, Cardiff Castle, Lincoln Castle and many other sites. Cuffe & Taylor also produce and promote over 1,500 theatrical shows across the UK and internationally each year and project manage a major London attraction. The event manager will work within the operations team and be a key role in the planning and delivery of festivals, concerts and tours at Cuffe & Taylor. In this role, the successful candidate will be involved with all aspects of the event management including but not limited to procurement and budget management. Alongside, working with the finance, marketing, ticketing, promoting team to deliver a successful event. For this role you should have exceptional organisational, communication and leadership skills. Previous experience in, event management, project management; event co-ordination; production co-ordinator would be an advantage. Who you are Competencies / Skills / Knowledge / Experience Essential Detailed project management / planning experience Ability to work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines Excellent organisational and administrative skills Excellent communication skills Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office and Excel Experience in budget management Desirable Procurement Management Event Management training SIA and Crowd Management training Experience with sustainability practices Experience in planning large scale events (5,000 people ) Experience in negotiation with suppliers Experience in liaison with local authorities Knowledge of live music industry and event management experience Behaviours The following attributes determine how the role will be carried out and are required to be a success Confidence to lead and manage Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving High level of integrity and discretion Flexibility Maturity and level-headedness You may have prior experience involving, project management; local authority licensing department; licence compliance; event management; event coordination; health and safety What the role includes Delivery, planning and operational management of festivals, concerts and events Regular liaison with and progress reports to Senior Event Manager and Director of Operations via weekly meetings or any other means as appropriate Budget management of festivals and concerts Procurement, management and contracting of suppliers including but not limited to stages, structures, marquees, cabins, fencing, trakway, power, toilets, showers, catering, accommodation, Wi-Fi, CCTV, signage etc. Procurement management and contracting of site management, health and safety management, waste management, artist liaison, production management, traffic management, security and medical etc. Assisting with the preparation of site plans, specifications and the event management safety paperwork Strong liaison with statutory and non-statutory local agencies (e.g., police, fire, ambulance service, landowner, environmental health, licensing, building control, emergency planning, planning and Highways Agency where required) to include attendance at Safety Advisory Group meetings and meetings with agencies and regular updates Liaison with residents including management of the local resident information and ticket schemes Ensuring sustainability best practice through Green Nation Working with the promoting department to ensure the budgets are up to date and artist requirements are delivered Working with the marketing team to ensure the website customer information and graphical maps are correct and up to date Working with ticketing team throughout the ticketing process from set up to delivery Working with the finance team to maintain up to date budgets and to approve and submit invoices Working with the festival assistant on the management and response to customers Liaising with sponsors, sponsor activations, sponsorship teams and bars / traders (including boutique camping) and ensuring their requirements have been negotiated, booked and met Ad hoc tasks as required Equal Opportunities We are passionate and committed to our people and go beyond the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion.
