TITLE: Quality Assurance Specialist (Supply Chain)

SUMMARY: The Quality Assurance Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting the Quality Assurance department through various administrative duties.
EXPERIENCE:
- Quality Assurance professional with associate in biology, microbiology, food science, biochemistry (or equivalent) preferred.
- Previous experience (1-2 years) within the food industry with thorough knowledge of GMPs, Food Safety, Quality Systems, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control.
- Must have a working knowledge of compliance expectations for the manufacture of food products- FDA, USDA & Food Code regulations.
- Excellent technical, time management, organizational, observational, interpersonal, collaborative, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and computer skills including current MS Office programs, and additional QA systems a plus.
- Ability to perform comfortably in a fast pace, deadline-oriented work environment.
- Ability to successfully execute complex tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work in both a team environment and independently.
EDUCATION:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This includes but is not limited to the following areas:
- Under supervision maintain current the supply chain procedures.
- Communicate with suppliers for initial approval and annual renewal process for all suppliers.
- Communicate with suppliers for item related documentation requests and follow ups.
- Electronically capture, organize food safety and ingredient documentation which comes from suppliers.
- Working with the corporate QA team and Supply QA team to assess all suppliers.
- Assess the risks of existing and new materials, and controls that suppliers have in place for controlling the risks, and partner with the procurement team to ensure material risk assessment & specifications are reviewed, understood, and agreed upon by the supplier.
- Update supply chain QA databases, documenting the raw materials, food/non-food products, processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Create item information on Genesis R&D, ERPs, and supplier management software.
- Assist sites with audits regarding supply chain programs.
- Work with stakeholders and suppliers regarding export related documentation.
- Work with cross-functional teams regarding the onboarding of new commodities and suppliers.
- Effectively communicate scientific and technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.
