Position Title: CULINARY MANAGER
Salary: Up to $80,000/yr

Job Summary
The Culinary Manager is a key leadership position responsible for the day-to-day operations of Dining Services. This includes overseeing the culinary team, managing menu planning, food ordering, and scheduling, and ensuring that our dining operations consistently exceed client expectations. With a focus on quality, cost-effective management, and customer satisfaction, this role will oversee a café, dining hall, coffee shop, and catering services. Catering experience and a strong background in menu planning are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee food ordering, menu planning, scheduling, and staffing of hourly associates with an emphasis on efficient, quality service.
- Plan and execute catering events, including upscale pop-up catering services, with a strong emphasis on cultural diversity in menu offerings.
- Ensure proper staffing for all shifts, including weekend brunches and dinner services. Manage and schedule the hourly team.
- Develop diverse and culturally rich menus.
- Menu planning is a key component of this role.
- Manage budgets, food cost controls, and financial reporting. Strong financial and budgetary skills are essential.
- Serve as the primary culinary contact for clients. Maintain open communication regarding menu preferences, catering events, and service needs.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the culinary team, ensuring high standards for food quality, presentation, and cleanliness are consistently met.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP and OSHA) and internal quality control standards.
- Oversee daily operations of a café and dining hall.
- Participate in the preparation and service of food items as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Heavy culinary experience, particularly in a catering environment. Catering experience, especially with pop-up events, is highly preferred.
- Strong menu planning skills is especially important in this role to ensure a variety of culturally diverse and appealing meals.
- Experience in scheduling and managing a culinary team in a fast-paced environment.
- Catering experience is ideal, particularly with upscale events.
- Experience in a K-12 school environment setting is not required but would be a plus.
- Ability to work with a diverse team and clientele.
- Must be available and flexible, with the ability to work weekends as needed
