Position Overview:
As an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, you will design, implement, and manage control systems and instrumentation solutions for utility projects. You will work on diverse projects involving power generation, water/wastewater, and energy systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Key Responsibilities:Control System Design: Develop and implement control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and DCS, for utility infrastructure projects.
- Instrumentation Engineering: Specify, design, and oversee the installation of field instrumentation for monitoring and controlling processes.
- System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of instrumentation and control systems with existing and new infrastructure.
- Technical Support: Provide troubleshooting and technical support during the commissioning and operation phases of projects.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, and test plans.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and vendors to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Project Management: Support project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering, preferably within utilities or infrastructure.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with field instrumentation, including flow meters, pressure transmitters, and temperature sensors.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP.
Certifications (Preferred):
PE license or EIT certification.
ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST).
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Work Environment: Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and project support.
