What are the responsibilities and job description for the HIM CLERK II FT - HIM position at Cullman Regional Medical Center Inc?
Job Summary:
- Make sure all charts are completed according to guidelines.
- Receive operative notes from transcription and review for completeness and accuracy.
- Handle all medical record requests per policy guidelines.
- Knowledgeable of HIPAA guidelines, American Health Information Management Association guidelines, and state and federal laws pertaining to medical records.
- Maintain dress code and appearance according to policy as observed by management.
- Utilize time effectively and follow established time-keeping policy.
- Maintain regular attendance and follow attendance policies.
- Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
- Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred;
Experience:
Three five years experience in a medical office, hospital, outpatient surgery center or related field.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Computer experience; a knowledge with Excel, Word, medical billing software and applications; and a working knowledge of medical terminology.
