SITTER (PRN)

Description

Job Summary:           

• Under supervision of RN, principle responsibilities are sitting with and monitoring of patient who are at high risk for falls and/or injury to self or others through direct observation.         
• Perform other duties as assigned by registered nurse.        
• Support patient safety initiatives and quality improvement activities.         
• Demonstrate essentials of professional courtesy, respect and customer services.   
• Communicate to RN patient status and any changes.         
• Follow directions from other staff members as appropriate.        
• Remain calm in crisis and emergency situations and communicate as appropriate.        
• Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.          
• Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.         

Qualifications

Education:                
High school education or up to 6 months related experience.                

Experience:                
Previous patient care experience is strongly preferred.      

Additional Skills/Abilities: 

Excellent communication skills are required.
