Barista and Cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Barista to join our team in creating a welcoming café environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and food items while delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires a passion for coffee, strong time management skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. You will also learn about the tea and spice side of the business and will be assisting in manufacturing products for Cultivate Tea & Spice.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items according to established recipes and standards.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing customer orders and handling cash transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas.
• Ensure compliance with food handling and safety regulations while preparing food items.
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to management.
• Assist with blending and packaging of organic loose leaf tea and culinary spice products.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment that fosters teamwork and communication.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service or café settings is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques is a plus.
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and order processing.
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a friendly demeanor with customers.
• Must be able to follow instructions accurately and adhere to health and safety standards related to food handling.
• A passion for coffee culture and willingness to learn about different brewing methods is highly desirable.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 42 per week
