Job Summary
The mission of Culver City Adult School is to be an educational resource to the community, providing classes and programs that afford our students opportunities to become lifelong learners and to participate actively in their community. The Culver City Adult School offers a broad range of classes designed to fit the needs of the surrounding community, is WASC accredited and is a member of the California Adult Schools Network.
Requirements / Qualifications
This is a 12-hour per week Monday - Thursday evening position. ESL Level 1 5 : 30-8 : 30PM for the 24 / 25 school year.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A valid teaching California credential authorizing teaching ESL at the adult school level.
- Experience teaching ESL
- Teaching students with different learning abilities
- Skilled at establishing clear lesson objectives and making course content accessible to students
- Skillful at class management, including small group configurations
- Ability to build and maintain a learning environment designed to motivate and retain students
- Strong interest in professional growth including ongoing participation in professional development activities
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
All employment offers are conditional, based upon the successful completion of the following : Fingerprint / background clearance, and a tuberculosis clearance.
