Position Name: Facilities Supervisor
Position Description:
Under the general supervision of the Superintendent, the Facilities Supervisor is responsible for overall program planning, execution and direction of all maintenance, custodial and grounds services, as well as mechanical systems, for all schools and school facilities in the school district. This includes planning, organizing, implementing, scheduling and evaluating district maintenance, custodial and grounds programs and personnel. Considerable use of independent judgment is required in matters not having established rules, policies or procedures. The ability to efficiently organize others, make long-range plans and act appropriately during emergency conditions is required. The Facilities Supervisor organizes and leads the District Safety Committee as the Safety Officer and develops and implements programs to insure the District’s compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations; including the Integrated Pest Management Program and the Healthy and safe Schools program. This employee must be available for and respond to emergencies 24 hours a day as necessary. This is a working supervisor position.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Prior School District experience preferred
- Ability to operate a computer, including proficiency of internet access, MS Office, Google suite, email, electronic calendars and other District software
- Ability to assist in the development of and monitor Facilities budget including project cost analysis and presentation
- Ability to plan and organize work to meet schedules and timelines in an environment of rapidly changing priorities
- Knowledge of management and leadership principles and practices including writing of program objectives and results statements, analysis of policies, writing and maintaining current standard operating procedures, and the preparation and implementation of Long and Short-Term Facilities and Grounds plans
- Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices including planning, scheduling, assigning, directing, coaching and evaluating work of subordinates and the application of human relations skills to positively direct and motivate employees
- Knowledge and ability to identify, order, use and care for appropriate modern cleaning and maintenance materials and equipment
- Knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, terminology and modern methods used in the repair and maintenance of facilities and grounds
- Knowledge of federal, state and local rules and regulations regarding facilities, custodial, grounds, health and safety operations and maintenance including MSDS, ADA and OSHA; and the ability to establish operating practices and procedures to insure compliance
- Knowledge and ability to ensure proper operation of all major facilities systems such as heating, electrical, plumbing and security
- Knowledge and ability to produce appropriate Request for Proposals (RFPs)
- Knowledge of supply and equipment procurement practices and procedures
- Promotion of positive public relations
- Knowledge of record-keeping maintenance
- Must possess excellent communication skills and ability to communicate positively and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Must possess pertinent mathematic skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, indoors and outdoors in variable weather
- Must possess valid Oregon Driver’s License
- Fingerprinting and Criminal History Check at employee’s expense is required once hired
Education and Experience
Demonstrated supervisory and/or administrative experience in building maintenance, construction-related activities, grounds/facilities maintenance or related field; or substituting college level course work or training in building maintenance, grounds maintenance, construction management, business or public administration, or a related field for up to one year of experience.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 DOE
