TITLE: Clerk IV
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduate and one year of training beyond high school or three years clerical experience in an office environment. Minimum typing skill of 45 wpm. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (word processing, spreadsheet, database). Exemplary interpersonal skills and communication skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives telephone calls and visitors; refers calls or visitors to appropriate staff members.
Prepares correspondence, reviews and edits correspondence prepared by staff members from superior, checks for correct grammar, proper format, and necessary attachments.
Gives information to public on other employees, which require knowledge of office rules and regulations.
Receives standardized reports, and compiles data into summary or consolidated form.
Collects a variety of data from existing office records and compiles into required form for use of supervisor or related working units.
Reviews incoming mail; refers important correspondence to superior assigned correspondence.
Establishes and maintains files for records and correspondence in addition to sorting and distributing incoming mail.
Prepares agenda for office and departmental meetings; handles mechanics of planning meetings, and follows through on matters requiring correspondence.
Issue purchase orders and inspects related bills, reports, and forms for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and departmental requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.
Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required. Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license. Applicant must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) when requested for purposes of driving a school bus.
Salary : $2,732 - $3,867
